AR technology, if properly implemented, can be incorporated into the daily business life of non-tech companies

Shreeram Iyer Chairman and Group CEO of Prisma Global Limited

Take us through your initial journey while launching Prisma Global.

The journey has been incredible and we have gained a lot of confidence in market acceptability. We are on the verge of setting up our offices in the US, Middle East, South Africa and processing in Australia and partnership agreements for global market. In India we shall be setting up offices in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune.

Considering the ever growing number of IT solutions provider companies across the country, what were the roadblocks while starting out?

It was an experience to coordinate with the regulatory body and the process of setting up a closely held public limited company. The coordination and documentation was an essential aspect. The governance on ODI and ROC norms along with the compliance for the SPA, SHA and acquisition was itself a challenge. Funding and raising adequate capital was another challenge.

Please list the type of technical support that Prisma provides to its client base.

As we are providing the IR/AR software in the SAAS model (software-as-a-service), there is no need for direct technical support to the client or the end-user. The actual usage of the software is very elementary and similar to downloading and using any other simple app from the respective app stores.

Why did you choose to offer the function of augmented reality ?

AR was already present in multiple forms on higher end platforms, but with the advent of powerful mobile computing devices, it has become the next generation in providing additional content in a far more visually pleasing format. With our expertise in both IR and animation, it was an obvious technology platform to get into.

What is the future of AR technology in non-tech companies?

AR technology is a very potent and dynamic tool which can be used in multiple aspects of branding, marketing, training, support, hence if properly implemented can be eventually incorporated into the daily business life of even the non-tech companies.

According to you, what are the ongoing problems in this kind of technology? Non Technology aspirant companies have initial issue of relevance, but once they understand the implementation or methodology they too are keen.

Going ahead, what are the other solutions/technology you plan to offer? Explain.

We are also in the space of animation, gaming, data warehousing and communication devices for health care segment.

Word of advice for young tech entrepreneurs.

I presume technology entrepreneurs globally are in concurrence with the trends of the innovations – featuring and enhancing them shall be one of the best forms of entrepreneurship.
